I bet you it still won't have continuous, smooth Bluetooth volumes though, so my loudspeakers will always be either too loud or too quiet. (Or is that because of some Bluetooth standard?)

Anyway, that's one of the basic features I'm so surprised still hasn't made it onto my phones. I always get grumpy when I hear of new features as long as that one isn't here.

TL;DR

Android 16 will introduce a new Night Mode Indicator API to help apps automatically optimize photo capture in low-light environments.

Instagram and other social apps will use this to trigger Night Mode, thereby improving image quality and informing users when they are clicking images in low-light conditions.

Select devices, such as the Pixel 6 and above, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and others, already support the feature and display a moon icon to help users activate Night Mode.
