I’m not sure this quote shows any wisdom. It’s okay to have base instincts of violence tempered by application of reason. The goal of internal harmony isn’t really relevant. And inner turmoil doesn’t prove anything either way.

And although Gandhi was a key figure in important historical changes, he was a human like any of us with both virtues and flaws. Just because he said it, doesn’t mean it’s wisdom.

Mahatma is the Gandhi we all think of. Who is Mohandas? Is that a variation of the same name?
