Yup, I got perma-banned for speaking out against the genocide in Gaza. The admin called me a "hateful Nazi fascist."

I'm to the left of Bernie and I don't support ethnic cleansing. Reddit is just falling in line with the AIPAC propaganda as they're a powerful foreign lobbyist group in the US.

I banned Reddit

[–] Antagnostic 30 points 3 days ago

It's the other way round for most.

I go banned for no reason. And also IP banned

[–] tupalos 1 points 1 day ago

Probably because someone who also uses the WiFi got banned and tried to circumvent it

[–] [email protected] 16 points 3 days ago (1 children)

There's a few, and they proceed to get downvoted to hell and banned from here as well because people are even less tolerant to those that love to test the rules here.

I guess I’m an outlier because I was banned for basically no reason.

Mods thought I was impersonating a pharmacist because I posted in cs career subreddit and banned me instantly. Then extended it when I asked them why it was happening

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah there's those situations, fairly rare. Most of the ones I see coming here are the free speech kind that are mad they got banned for harassing people and generally being major assholes.

Welcome to Lemmy then! The mods aren't perfect either but at least you have choices in instances.

Ya I’m enjoying it so far but it’d be really nice to have more traffic on some of the smaller subreddits. I’m hoping though

Not banned. I deleted all my posts and then quit Reddit the moment they tried to ruin (and were mostly successful it seems) 3rd party apps with changes to their API. Screw them.

I was banned from Reddit after RvW for saying riot police should quit their jobs en masse. I still stand by that statement

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

No, i just got tired of interacting with the mainstream shills and bots.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

Well, I kept getting my comments deleted and had temp bans a lot since they went public. I'm glad to be here instead.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Actually, yes. I'm very sure that it was a false ban, but as Reddit makes sure you can't find out, as the comment is, of course, deleted, and their appeal form was down, and because lemmy was pretty good, I just switched fully.

[–] tupalos 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Does an appeal actually work or do anything? I’ve tried but it’s never been replied to

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

I doubt that it works on any service. I guess it's always just placebo, so you don't have your regular support email spammed or negative 'articles' written about you.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

No never used reddit

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

i tried to get them to ban me by intentionally breaking the rules; but they wouldn't for whatever reason.

i did it during the blackout protests so maybe they decided to turn a blind eye during that time.

do you know why this post is so heavily downvoted?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Nope, just find it better then a corporate shithole.

[–] HoneyMustardGas 0 points 3 days ago

I got a temp sitewide ban on Reddit. I created this account and when the ban lifted, I deleted my account, made a new one just to observe and not participate. Only some subreddits I miss. They don't exist yet on Lemmy or they are dead here.
