It's a neat design but is it historical? I didn't find anything similar searching the web

Unfortunately, I don't have a wealth of knowledge on the matter. I presumed it was historical in some way. I did a quick search myself just now, and it's extremely difficult for me to come up with the keywords that would get me a traditional village of this kind, bridge-gate or no. Here you can see some suspension bridges and stilted villages of this kind, but I don't have access to the full book and the preview doesn't show any with a gate.

If anyone else has insight, it would be welcome
