Damn, that certainly was not what I expected.
I have this. Had a lone-star tick on my right shoulder blade and didn't notice until it started itching. The wound site took over a year to heal and would still randomly itch for a decade. Took me forever to figure out what was causing the allergic reactions because there's a 3+ hour delay before you experience symptoms.
Can you eat meat now?
It has weakened over time, but if I eat a large amount of red meat, such as a steak, I'll have a reaction.
Yikes. How long has it been? Only mammal meat is an issue, right?
It's been 12 years now. Yes, only mammal meat causes a reaction, with fattier cuts causing a stronger reaction. I did have a reaction Gruyere once though.
