Good ol tactic of negative campaigns. At this rate I am expecting Jamaliah to take a page off how people used to mention her grandma was a communist for her reelection campaign. I will never believe the main coalitions pledge against negative campaigning ever again.

For now it’s just vague allegations only la. Obviously, actual proof is needed

If fearmongering and naysaying across Twitterspace can be enabled by UG I really fear for UG candidates' campaigns.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Who is UG? Sorry, I’m blur here

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

(clarifying on my kbin acc bc lemmy is broke) Sorry I am using abbreviations like that rumour-mongering user. UG is unity govt or PH-BN

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Aha! Got it, thanks.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

took a while for me to figure out that you were referring to lemmy.world being down, instead of lemmy as a whole.

any reason you don't just get a monyet account?

@rakyat tagging so this gets to monyet too instead of just kbin

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Because I would rather wait for Lemmy to implement account migration than create another account for the threadiverse

I only see the comment "Nope. Nope. I know what you did to the OA". Is there any further elaboration?

There are a few rumors circulating on Twitter but just rumors.

Nice. It's good to see MUDA fielding candidates with environmental background.

[–] DerpyPoint 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Can confirm that sustainable waste management initiatives, public transport and opposing PJD Link are major environmental talking points there. No yawnings this time I hope!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hopefully. While I'm doubtful she'll win, I do hope that she'll gain a following.

[–] DerpyPoint 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

She need to at least prove those bawangs who only know how to wish for candidates to lose their deposits.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Those are the worst, they don't do shit yet they want to see others fail.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

she is very chio, i will vote for her

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Dude, don't la. Very dehumanising and sexist.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’m sorry how is commenting someone chio dehumanising and sexist… ?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It sounds like you're only voting for her because she's pretty, not her policies, not her experience. She's reduced to just a pretty face.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

You’re overextending there buddy with all due respect

Disregarding the fact that it’s well within my prerogative to vote for whomever I wish, for whatever reason, giving some random stranger an unsolicited lecture because they compliment someone for being chio/attractive is disrespectful :/

You would have a point if I say I don’t want to vote for her because of [insert protected attribute ie. sex/gender identity]. Now that is dehumanising and sexist. To be sexist one has to firstly, discriminate an individual’s attributes in other words.

Look idk you, but do you get upset when people say you’re chio?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It is somewhat condescending in this context where she's running for a political position. Like telling somebody they're cute when they bring up X idea instead of considering the idea itself...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Then I would prefer if that person call me out for that, not call me out for being “sexist” and “dehumanising” ☠️ and may I clarify - please don’t put words in my mouth when I have made it very clear that there is no malicious intention from my end. Understood?

You do realise we live in a country whereby people are voting based on religion and race right? And somehow you two think voting someone based on their appearance is anymore shallow and wrong lol.

Politics and virtue signalling aside, real talk she is indeed very chio. This is my subjective opinion. Peace…

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Look idk you, but do you get upset when people say you’re chio?

Yes, I do, especially when I am not looking for those remarks, even if they may be compliments. Unwanted attention is unwanted. I'm more than just a pretty face.

It might be a gender thing, but it can be seen as micro aggression against women. I don't like the term "beauty and brains" because it seems to signal that women who are beautiful are expected to be intellectually inferior and vice versa, but being both is a rarity. Maybe you don't mean any harm, seeing that it's very deeply ingrained behaviour, but we can be better.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Understood, upvoted for visibility.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It seems like this a good turn for MUDA to be turned into the most green advocate party besides other left-wing party like PRM and PSM. Most welcoming to such change! We have to seriously addressing our way of life in order to adapt to the climate crisis we're now facing.

[–] DerpyPoint 1 points 1 year ago

A breathe of fresh air (pun unintended), which is why I signed up to volunteer with MUDA
