I only been playing automatic in racing games since I got into the genre at 12 years ago after playing Forza Motor Sport 7 and Gran Turismo 7 (wow strange coincidence the platform exclusives were on their 7th installments on their systems, almost like a mirror match lol). First time I played manual it was strange my car wouldn't go faster than a certain speed and then in the next race I discovered you have to press a button each time you reached a max speed to be able to accelerate to further speeds per certain speed distances.
Now that I got more skilled in racing I am now gonna start experimenting with bells and whistles to improve my meta. So I gotta ask is there any reason why manual is ideal over automatic? IS there some ability that makes it worth having to press a button to switch gears to as you reach each range of speed so you can go further to the next speed tier? I know in Forza at least some of the top players have shown choosing manual in videos I seen. So I assume it has its pros despite having to get into the habit of manually pressing the button so you can go faster by switching gears?
