Someone deciding to go work for Tesla at this point would have to be desperate.

If they get hired at Tesla that’s still a huge CV boost over “going to school somewhere” even if it’s not a long run.

That's true. Depends whether Tesla ends up infamous in the near future, I suppose. At the least, they could get some good connections.
