I mainly use mine for listening to the radio and random questions. Considering get the Ikea Smart Home Hub but the in the skills section on the Alexa app the skill doesn't have good reviews.

Is there really something useful Alexa can do? Beside what you already wrote I can’t find anything else. Oh, maybe you can turn on and off appliances in your house, provided that you have a smart home :D

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. Seems like it has so much potential but I don't know. It's hard to know what else it can be used for.

A customer of mine has MS and is using his many Alexas to open doors, switch TV channels and he has an emergency button that gets used with a switchbot

Though it’s not without fail and the user experience leaves some reliability to be desired especially when you’re trying to fix something randomly broken
