Dunking on Tankies from a leftist perspective.

A tankie is someone who defends/supports authoritarian or even totalitarian regimes who call themselves "socialist". The term originated from people supporting the 1956 invasion of Hungary by the Soviet Union. Nowadays they are just terminally online, denying genocides, and falling for totalitarian propaganda and calling such regimes "true democracies". remember to censor usernames when necessary.

The OP was clearly a communist from the post, but they had posted a document that included criticisms of the CCP. Tankie admins obviously could not emotionally handle the concept of CCP being anything but the good guys. Ironic they call every anti-dictator leftist "reactionary", when 'tis they who are the reactionaries.

The other day I had a discussion in a Lemmygrad post accidentally, because it appeared in !All. God, I've seen bricks more history aware than those guys. It was like talking to someone who's viewpoint didn't evolve with the past 100 years of history.

Is this the roaring twenties, from 100 years ago? Did the last 100 years not happen? Did hundreds of million of people suffer in vein and nothing was learned?

What was learned is that far right extremism is made palatable by calling it communism.
