I see some on Amazon. Maybe not the best place to buy one, but it seems to confirm they are in production still at least.

That's impressive! It looks like many of them are "reconditioned" so not completely new, but interesting to see people maintaining them.

Nakajima still make some electronic daisy wheel typewriters.
A couple of companies still make manual typewriters, but they are widely regarded as garbage.
That said a lot of old typewriters, especially manual ones, will work fine, and the ribbons are widely available.
