An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

Corruption this, incompetent that. As if naman mga politician magpapatakbo nung reactor or soviet-era infra gagamitin.

And off the top of my head, anong project ba natin ang natuloy that ended up endangering the lives of people?? Mga corruption scandals natin sa infra usually involve unconstitutionality (such as overpricing, preferred bidders sa ZTE scandal), may mga umaalma na sectors (fisherfolks in Laguna involving the scrapped megadike highway), or just poorly designed but not hazardous (footbridges).

The plant will be handled by scientific experts with modern construction materials and mindsets. Not to mention na micro modular plant gagawin.

We have scientists sa PNRI who are already managing a reactor na larger in comparison.

That said, feasibility study pa lang naman... which was reported late last year din. It's completely theoretical. If anything, ang worry natin dapat sa politicians should be that they're old, ignorant, and resistant. Haharangin nila arbitrarily yung nuclear energy out of fear kasi "meltdown this" or "san ilalagay that" when those aren't applicable (or grossly overstated with regards) to SMRs. Or worse (way worse!) yung mga lackeys ni Duterte that want the BNPP reopened and reused for this purpose.

Even the lone decent senator we have, Risa Hontiveros, is trumpeting the same BS as most people. Fucking JV Ejercito is actually the sane person regarding this! Surprisingly kasi he's not pushing for BNNP reopening but to follow PNRI's lead.

honestly it feels like history repeating itself correct me if I'm wrong but didn't macoy Sr. also push for nuclear power? with BNPP
