I found that Coppermind had what I was looking for but only for Brandon Sanderson’s books, which for the time being works for me since I’m reading his books.
I know this is a shit answer, but whenever I dive into a new book that I suspect will have loads of characters (looking at you fantasy epics), I tend to either highlight the first time a character comes along (if reading on the iPad) or takes notes myself.
Going forward I’m going to start doing it, I’m a little late now but future me will be happy.
