Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using an URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: [email protected]

Oh boy, the bots have arrived

I’m using Memmy and neither of the links function properly for me lol.

I'm pretty sure they will have to do separate updates to support hat. It was the lemmy-ui project that was updated with this new feature.

Here we go again.

This bot is actually pretty usefull tho

My app treats that link as a user instead of a community and complains it can't find it.

How do you subscribe or follow a lemmy community from Mastodon?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I'm doing it with Calckey myself, but Communities basically act like users. You can search and follow them. You'll get to see posts in that community in your feed, and you can make top-level comments and reply to direct replies on your own comments, but if you want to see comments that aren't responding to you you'll have to switch over to Lemmy.

I basically just browse my own Calckey front page now and then when I see a Lemmy thread that looks interesting I open it in Lemm.ee or Blahaj.zone.

On Calckey you just search for @NAME@INSTANCE, whether the name is a community or an individual you'll be able to follow them!

Edit: I made a little VIA macro, so now I've got a hotkey that grabs the link in my current clipboard and searches it in lemm.ee. Made it a lot easier!

Was this posted from mastodon? Your post looks weird

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Yup, seen someone do a test post from Mastodon the other day and it was like this

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Shouldn’t the replies from mastodon also show up here then? That would make some kind of sense to me.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Damn. I guess we’re not far off from clients being able to post to both fairly easily. Cool to see

Yeah, a mastodon user can just see whats going on and even follow themselves on their as well. Its much easier to setup a lemmy account tho and use the interface than just interfacing with mastodon.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I feel like it could be nice to follow mastodon users from lemmy and have their toots mixed in with other posts

There is a bug in 2FA in Lemmy. In every implementation of TOTP, the account is not locked under 2FA until the server verifies at least one TOTP password. In Lemmy, if the user is unable to set up 2FA on his device, and quits the session, he is locked out of his account.
