Just hit this on my latest rewatch, I love this episode! I've always thought it would be great to have a political drama like House of Cards or Designated Survivor set in a sci-fi universe. This episode gives me just a taste of that, it's really well done!

Something lighthearted but also serious, like The West Wing. But the President gets called into the war room to deal with Replicators or the Ori or something.

I'd love that! I usually think of that political drama in a sci-fi universe scenario in terms of Star Trek and the Federation president, but I think it could work really well in the Stargate universe too!
