@framework Has anyone here got ideas about how to deal with a false delivery notice from FedEx?

No response yet from Framework via the support link in the order confirmation e-mail.

#fedex have form for this. Someone (driver?) 'signs' for the package, which never arrives. Customer kicks up a stink, then FedEx sometimes find it down the back of a sofa 2 days later.

This seems very, very dodgy to me!

FedEx is absolutely terrible. I haven't personally had this exact issue, but every time we have a shipment through FedEx, they show up at the door to our apartment complex without forewarning (their estimates are usually off by up to a day), then decide to leave due to the lock on the door. We don't realize they've even been around until we receive a notification later that "a delivery has been attempted." We literally have to estimate when the delivery driver will arrive, and sit by the door for hours until they show up. Otherwise they just won't attempt the shipment. Not to say that the delivery driver needs to wait for us, but at least a notification of which hour the delivery will be attempted would be nice...

I've gotten into the habit of ordering on Amazon, for the entire reason that they won't use FedEx. I don't like Amazon, but I like FedEx even less.

@Contramuffin Well, well!

Today, FedEx said the parcel was still stuck in customs, then 20 mins later someone who said he is a neighbour brought it around on foot, saying it was delivered to his pkace 2 days ago.

Vikki didn't recognise him from the local area...

@Contramuffin Anyway, parcel undamaged/unopened.

Fedora 39 running nicely. Very happy :-)

I've had a thought--previous machine had Windows 8.1 Pro for one old app, and I need 1 copy of Windows anyway.

How about keeping Fedora as my daily driver, with #VMware Workstation running an image of my old Windows 8.1 Pro?

Any 'gotcha' I should worry about?

@Contramuffin I decided to give it a go, and downloaded Workstation bundle and ran it. Installed OK, but running VMware it needs kernel-headers-6.5.10-300.fc39.x86_64 and I can't find that anywhere, so I guess it's a bit soon for Fedora 39 :-)
