Idk man, monero seems pretty legit to me. Bought food with it off monero market lately
Monero is like, what crypto was sold to us as. Private.
i don't think crypto has ever been sold as "private" given how literally the entire chain is public. With that being said, there are trustless privacy protocols built on top of bitcoin and ethereum
