For when you need a laugh!

The definition of a "meme" here is intentionally pretty loose. Images, screenshots, and the like are welcome!

But, keep it lighthearted and/or within our server's ideals.

The cut off line for 1999 looks to me like it reads, "They all want to work in front of a computer and make lots of--," and I'm super interested to know how that ended. Make lots of what, money? Fuck yeah, we do.

Make...memes? The time frame would be right for around the very beginning of the first well-known memes, but they weren't really what they are now for several years, still, and I can't imagine the idea would have been in a newspaper in 1999.

Also...yeah? Nobody wants to work because working sucks. Just like nobody in their right mind leaps out of bed and says, "Today, I am going to do so many dishes!" Some shit's just a necessary chore.

Nobody told me I had to be enjoying myself. If I were being paid to enjoy myself, I feel like I'd be left the fuck alone for 12 minutes. But I got yelled at for wasting my time organizing so the customers could find shit.

as someone terminally online since 1992, we definitely didn't have the word "meme" in our vocabulary until the 2010s.

I thought not, but I kinda went off the grid entirely around that time, so I couldn't be sure. I just came back one day and had to look up how to pronounce "meme."

They used to be known as image macros before someone decided "meme" was better.
