It's one of my favorites. Honestly, I love the art deco period in general, especially in locomotives. Was it practical? No. Did it look good? Oh god yes

What were some of the practicality tradeoffs of the art deco aesthetic in engines? I know little about trains, I subscribed here on a bit of a lark because it was active and I thought I might learn something.
