What would your ideal Gothic Remake world look like? (self.world_of_gothic)

As the title says.

If you were in charge of designing the world of the Gothic Remake, what would your vision be? Would you stay close to the original, or would you think about making changes, like expanding or removing certain areas?

For me, one of the biggest changes would probably be the Swamp camp. I like the idea of a sect being in a swamp, but the original execution could have been done in a more interesting way in my opinion.

If I were tasked with the Remake I would make the swamp a lot larger, and instead of the main camp being right at the entrance of the swamp it would be deep in the middle somewhere, with the temple being further away from the camp.

I would love to hear what you would come up with.

Don't know if you've ever played it but the Othello 2.0 mod changes a lot of the areas in Gothic 1, and I think it was their most recent update that added a new swamp layout. That layout in my opinion has some good things going for it.

I would like to expand the troll valley area, because I always thought it a bit bland in the original game. Also is was very intrigued by the old Castell you and gorn get the focus from, but there’s little to explore really, maybe more on the history of that place and couple of puzzles like in the one you go to with Lester.

You mean the place where you get the Focus with Diego? I think if it was an actual long ass canyon, with steep walls and some caves, it would have been a lot more interesting.

There's this somewhat fresh guide for installing it and the English version. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot, I will have to have a look if I can make it work on my steamdeck though.
