Hi all!

First time posting anything on lemmy or sharing my knitting at all, so I hope I'm doing it right.

I've been knitting since the start of this year, and it's been mostly socks so far (7 pairs and a single if I'm counting right) with the occasional off-item thrown in (shawl, hat, decorations, a single glove). This months work is a fairly standard pair of socks as a gift for a friend, as well as a pair of big, over-the-knee socks with some simple cables for myself.

At first I saw this on my feed and didn't understand why a pair of high quality socks was worth posting. Then I noticed the name of the community. Holly shit! You knitted that yourself?!? How the hell did you make the calf patterns on the white socks. I'm blown away and I have to move on before I hyperfixate and spend the next week watching hours of knitting YouTube.

Thanks for the big compliment!

That pattern is really just one of the simplest forms of cable knitting. Which is super easy, if you can believe it. I would say that if you can knit at all, you can also knit cables. You should try it one day. But without the hyperfixation. I know exactly what you mean ๐Ÿ˜€
