Menopause

'Menopause isn't really that bad'...said no woman ever.

For those who are approaching or experiencing 'the change' (think reverse puberty), a time where hormone levels decline either through the aging process or by medical/surgical means.

Menopause and Perimenopause (the transitional time before Menopause) are unique to every person, and while there's no one-size fits all, we support each other on this roller coaster ride of wacked out hormones, absurd mood swings and random sweaty hot flashes.

Be kind. Be respectful. We are all in this together!

My experience on Intrarosa

My dr started me on Intrarosa 6 weeks ago and it has done nothing .Perhaps I need to give it more time, but at this point I'm ready to go back to Vagifem.

In 6 weeks ,my clitoris has shrunk even more than before and with Vagifem I started to notice:

Increase in clitorial size

Increase in clitorial sensitivity

Increase in vaginal moisture

Increase in vaginal sensitivity

I'm al out of Vagifem but I do have premarin and will continue to use that vaginally until I get my prescription for Vagifem renewed on the 26th

To say I'm dissatisfied and disappointed is an understatement

Why did you switch in the first place? Just curious if there were side effects or something.

Was the dose the same? Different hormone formulation?

So Intrarosa (prasterone) is a suppository that contains DHEA, which is naturally made in our bodies to help create estrogen/testosterone but with menopause, the DHEA is no longer made or production slows down.

The suppository is made with DHEA/coconut and palm oils

When taking it vaginally, its suppose to convert to estrogen and testosterone in our bodies and help with menopausal symptoms like dryness..

My Dr felt that it would be worth my while to try it and see how it helps. But so far beyond helping with dryness, which I suspect comes directly from the coconut and palm oils,it has done nothing good.

So back on Vagifem I go...I am seeing an actual gyno in August who is highly regarded in her field in Canada and hopefully, she can prescribe (off the books) a small dose of testosterone and or

ALPROSTADIL CLITORAL CREAM is a prescription product that has proven to increase blood flow, perfusion and sexual satisfaction. In clinical studies utilizing vaginal alprostadil, researchers used thermal imaging of the clitoris after application as well as subjective reports of increased satisfaction and ability to climax in order to prove efficacy.
