Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville, who represents Alabama, has blocked hundreds of military nominations from moving forward, saying the Pentagon is improperly using government funding to cover travel costs for abortions for service members and their dependents.

Huh. Not the excuse I would have imagined, but somehow not at all surprising.

It becomes especially enraging when you put it into context. Servicemembers volunteer to serve on active duty and as a result cannot dictate what state they live in. This is a way for the military to say "it's okay to join because we'll take care of our own if you're forced to live somewhere that doesn't help you." Now this dude is trying to take away another recruiting tool and hurting his own cause of getting more trigger pullers.
