What is Critical Role?
Critical Role is a group of nerdy-ass voice actors who sit around and play Dungeons & Dragons.
Streams every Thursday at 7pm PT and then rebroadcasts the following Friday at 12am and 9am PT on Twitch.

- Critical Role Campaign 3: Main D&D 5e campaign, streamed every Thursday at 7pm PT, except last Thursday of each month
- Candela Obscura: Horror drama campaign using their own game system, live streamed every last Thursday of each month at 7pm PT
- 4-Sided Dive: Talkshow with a roundtable discussion of 4 guests, to talk about recent episodes and answer fan questions. Streams every first Tuesday of the month at 7pm PT

I haven't been watching Candela Obscura, so I have no context of this show. To those who have watched, how has chapter 1 been? Are you excited for chapter 2 next month?
I really wanted to love it, but I think it’s super boring. Everything feels so low stakes. And I guess the world could be deep and rich with lore or whatever, but as viewers, we’re not privy to any of that so it just feels so pointless and bland. Also the system somehow manages to feel both overly complex at times but also too simplistic at others.
I’m really not a fan.
A shame, I was waiting for them to all release on YouTube as the upload schedule is very spaced out and CR live doesn't work for me. I can usually get an hour, maybe 2 before I need to sleep. I'll give it a try, but I thought a more simple, narrative focused system would really let them shine.
