Hi folks - I have a few questions that I promise I tried to answer myself via search, but I can't get clear answers:

How does Lemmy handle identical usernames registered across different instances? I assume Lemmy isn't calling to every instance to check usernames on signup
What considerations are there when determining what instance of Lemmy to create a community on?
Has anyone deployed a Lemmy instance on Azure? I'm looking to go down that path

It doesn't. Duplicate usernames aren't a problem if they're on different instances. There can be @[email protected] and @[email protected]
Server rules and community feel.
It was fairly easy to host mine on Oracle, but no idea on Azure.
