A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.

I've noticed that lemmy as a whole is much more leftist than reddit (outside of political servers of course) (self.showerthoughts)

I can't really think of a reason for that as Reddit is hated somewhat equally by "both" sides of the spectrum. It's just something I find interesting.

Why do you believe other political ideologies are not also "buying a narrative" (regardless of which one, make your pick!) meaning they too "[have] a certain level of ignorance that approaches being an average human being with minimal critical thinking"? Any ideology can make a narrative and sell it to people.
