Happened to me in a physics class. Early Tuesday morning, walk in, everyone is studying like mad.
"What's going on?"
"Mid term!"
"That's TODAY? I thought it was Thursday?"
"Oh, it's today!"
So I sit down and eat my breakfast.
"Aren't you going to study?"
"Nothing I can do in the next 20 minutes will make a difference. I'm going to relax and eat breakfast."
Not only did I pass, I got the highest score in the class. People were PISSED.
I always found physics to be good for that. For that class understanding is more important than raw memorization, and cramming won't help you understand.
The only thing I ever do for physics last 30 minutes is going through old solved exercises. At least sometimes you can then later remember a trick used in one of those that can help you.
