You know what they say about temporary solutions? I don't like it there either, but dont really have a space for the waterpump or the airbubler in the Tomato.
While filling the tanks i make sure to put the bar away/up and turn it off. Just to be safe.
It may be worth getting a weatherproof electrical box. You can get ones designed to just hold an extension lead, and that should provide enough safety without making it too cumbersome
