Why do so many of us feel disconnected from each other and ourselves? Perhaps it has to do with our relationship with the food that we consume?

273 Helixes Three subtle energy currents: Twin helixes around a jade pillar. This glowing presence Is the force of life itself. 螺旋 Deep in meditation, it is possible to become aware of the life-force itself. You can see it if you learn how to look within. To describe it as electricity, or power, or light, or consciousness is all somewhat correct. But such descriptions are inadequate. You have to see it for yourself. You have to feel it for yourself. You have to know it for yourself. To be in its presence is like being in front of something primeval, basic, mysterious, shamanistic, and profound. To be in its presence makes all references mute and all senses slack, leaving only deep awe. One is drawn to it in utter fascination. It is the mighty flame to our mothlike consciousness. This column of energy that coils around itself holds all the stages of our growth. It is our soul; it is the force that animates us and gives us awareness. If you want to engage your life completely, it is essential for you to come to terms with this inner power. Once you harmonize with it you can blend with the dynamics of being human.

The Way that can be articulately described is not the Unchanging Way. The name that can be said out loud is not the Unchanging Name. With your mouth unopened, and things left undefined, you stand at the beginning of the universe. Make definitions, and you are the measure of all creation.

The Tao Te Ching (UK: /ˌtaʊ tiː ˈtʃɪŋ/,[1] US: /ˌdaʊ dɛ ˈdʒɪŋ/; simplified Chinese: 道德经; traditional Chinese: 道德經; pinyin: Dàodé Jīng [tâʊ tɤ̌ tɕíŋ] i) is a Chinese classic text and foundational work of Taoism written around 400 BC and traditionally credited to the sage Laozi, though the text's authorship, date of composition and date of compilation are debated. The oldest excavated portion dates back to the late 4th century BC, but modern scholarship dates other parts of the text as having been written—or at least compiled—later than the earliest portions of the Zhuangzi.

The Tao Te Ching, along with the Zhuangzi, is a fundamental text for both philosophical and religious Taoism. It also strongly influenced other schools of Chinese philosophy and religion, including Legalism, Confucianism, and Chinese Buddhism, which was largely interpreted through the use of Taoist words and concepts when it was originally introduced to China. Many artists, including poets, painters, calligraphers, and gardeners, have used the Tao Te Ching as a source of inspiration. Its influence has spread widely within the globe's artistic and academic spheres. It is one of the most translated texts in world literature.

Hey everyone. My name is Patrick and I run an organization called The Taoist Online. We are a religion, philosophy , and spiritually publication on Medium.com.

However, a few weeks ago we started running a weekly live stream where we work through chapters from the book 365 Tao.

Seeing all the posts of pages from that same book here, I thought you all might enjoy coming to the stream.

It's every Sunday at 10 Am Central time on the publication's YouTube channel.

Imagine a world where everyone lived a spiritual life. Now do your part to build that world. Cultivate your inner light. Choose to walk the spiritual path. Not for desired results or outcomes, but because it is right.

No borders. No boundaries. No definitions. No identities. Can you see the universe without these shackles? Being indifferent is not cold. It is seeing the inherent oneness of all that is.

Hello, everyone! I'd like to introduce myself and also ask how you all started your Taoist journey.

I'm a college student studying Communication, so I have a natural curiosity as a student and a young person to learn about new languages, religions, and philosophies! I found out about Taoism because I wanted to create a new online community based on my favorite dreamy, psychedelic music. I came up with a theme of a dojo where musicians and fans could come and grow their skills. When researching about dojos, I came across resources about Taoism and Zen, and it really resonated with me!

All my life, I've felt so connected to nature and the universe, so the concept of the Tao, duality, and meditating instantly made sense to me. Now, I'm halfway through reading the Tao Te Ching!

How did you discover Taoism? Let me know!
