News / Sales: Splatoon 3 is on sale in Japan!

I think this might have been something I missed...

Since the 19th of April, various Nintendo Switch games including Splatoon 3 have been on sale in Japan!

Right now, Splatoon 3 is 30% off on the Japanese eShop, going from 6500¥ to 4550¥ as part of a sale (not confident in the translation of the sales name, sorry). With purchasing the game, it also looks like you'll be able to grab Nintendo Switch Online for free for 3 months.

The sale ends on Tuesday at 12am JST (Monday @ 4pm BST conversion).

Interviews: One "lucky" player remains on Splatoon 1 Nintendo servers, here's how it happened.

I was inkredibly lucky to be able to interview @[email protected] earlier, who is the last player known to be still connected to Nintendo Network servers playing Splatoon 1.

They are just one of 9 players who remain on Nintendo Network servers.

News / Announcements: We're releasing an interview with the last remaining Splatoon 1 player at 12am BST

Didn't the Wii U servers shut down 3 weeks ago? That might be what some of you think, but the truth is that 9 players remain on Wii U / 3DS game servers.

I managed to get an interview with one of them, the last remaining player for Splatoon 1. This was incredibly fun to make and Lcd is a nice person to talk to!

The interview is coming out at 12am BST, in about 1 and a half hours, if you want to be prepared!

Just wanted to make a quick announcement post to say that we've set up an account on WriteFreely!

News / Nintendo Network Shutdown: The last Splatoon 1 automatically generated rotation is on now

If you've been browsing the internet, there's a select few which have kept their consoles on to play Splatoon 1 until the absolute end.

The last ever rotation generated by Nintendo servers started 40 minutes ago and will end at 11pm GMT. From what I've heard, Pretendo is also using this system and will switch rotation systems from 11pm.

Tangentially related to TF2, but Nintendo is forcing Facepunch to take down all Nintendo IP related stuff in Gmod workshop

There are many overlaps between the tf2 and gmod community (such as tf2 related gmod videos), and I think it is relevant enough for me to post it here, especially considering Team Fabolous 2 has parts that was filmed on a mario kart map and that map might get taken down. Remember to archive these stuff that might taken down, they aren't winning this. Fuck Nintendo. I regret buying ToTK from this dumpster fire of a company last year.

This update focuses on making changes to multiplayer.

For some main weapons, we’ve strengthened their unique characteristics or made them easier to handle.

For the Big Bubbler, we’ve changed it to increase the amount of time you can safely act by making it harder to destroy, even from positions that make it easy to attack the weak points.

For the Splattercolor Screen, we’ve changed it to make it easier to control opponents’ movements by increasing the risk of touching the screen.

For the Triple Splashdown, while it is difficult to time its use when opponents actively attempt to shoot the player down, it is extremely powerful when opponents don’t shoot the player down. Therefore, we have simultaneously changed it to make it harder to shoot down and narrowed the area of effect.

For the Kraken Royale, we changed it to ease an issue where, from the perspective of opposing players, it felt difficult to stop countdown progression when combining Kraken Royale with Super Jump in certain modes.

We plan on releasing the next update at the end of the current season. It will focus primarily on weapon balance adjustments and adding features for Sizzle Season 2024.

The next update is also planned to change it so that when a player’s rank in any mode is within rank 1,000 for the previous season’s X Rankings, the rank change due to the season switch will become S+0.

This change is to alleviate a problem making matchmaking in X Battles difficult immediately after the season switch for players with particularly high X Power.

From 1am BST tomorrow, until 3am BST on Thursday, Undertow Spillway will be closed for maintenance.

We can see some small minor changes being added from the picture below which should hopefully improve the map.

Throughout today, the Curling Hurl Challenge will be taking place! In this #challenge, your objective is to toss out jumbo-sized Curling Bombs. The rules for this challenge are that you can only use a weapon with curling bombs and curling bombs will receive some buffs to deal more damage.
