Probably worth pointing out that it is very likely that there will be an update before the #Splatfest.

The update will fix bugs with the rumoured stage for Tri-Colour, and will probably add data for the Deep Cut Amiibo releasing next week.

We're hosting another event!

Do any of you squids play #MarioKart8Deluxe? If you do, we're hosting a fun room on Saturday at 3:30pm GMT to celebrate the final wave of the #BoosterCoursePass!

Here's the Splatoon related part of this: you can only play as an Inkling or as a Mii with the Splatoon suit (scan your Splatoon amiibo in game to unlock it).

We won't be playing Battle mode, instead we'll be playing Grand Prix at 150cc, Mirror and 200cc.

These categories are getting stranger...

If you play an Inkling in #MarioKart8Deluxe, I thought it would be worth just letting you know that the Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl is now grouped into one character in the character select screen. This also happened with the #AnimalCrossing villagers.

Not going to bother making a poll since it's not Splatoon related, but do you guys have any plans to play Mario Kart now that the final wave of the #BoosterCoursePass is out?

SRL Splatfest Research Team here with new findings! The 11th Splatfest theme will be "What's your go-to greeting? Handshake, fist bump, or hug?" As scientists, we're disappointed that "terse nod" was left out, but we'll observe from 4 PM PT on 11/17 to 4 PM PT on 11/19 anyway.

We finally have our second round of regional Splatfests for Splatoon 3 (the first round was the Splatfest World Premiere demo)!

Right now, we don't have any information for the Hong Kong and South Korea region or Americas, Australia and New Zealand region, but I can announce stuff for Europe and Japan.

For Europe (which is what we'll probably end up primarily covering here since I live in the UK), the theme is:

Is it worth trying to make a Pretendo sub-category?

#WiiU warriors, the wait is over. In this year's yearly beta for @pretendo, you can now officially play Splatoon in public servers. It's been such a long wait, but I'm glad it's finally here.

Before this, Pretendo only had support for Private Battles, and limited support for Splatfests.

I don't know how many of you have used your Nintendo Switch to access your favourite Splatoon streamers on #Twitch, but from the 31st of January 2024, the app will no longer function. I've linked a video from GameXplain below for more information.

Let me talk a bit more about the thing I'm planning to do for this account's anniversary on the 30th of November.

I was a bit stuck for ideas, but I've decided that I'll be hosting 28 consecutive Splatoon-related polls, starting from the 2nd of November and ending on this accounts anniversary on the 30th of November.

I do need some help though... if you have any questions that you want me to ask in a poll, please leave a reply.

I'm planning to put the polls out at 3pm GMT everyday, and all of them will last for one day.

Some polls may be released slightly earlier or later, and that's purely just because we will be using our Firefish account (@[email protected]) for some things, since we have a 5 option limit here, compared to a 10 option limit over there.

If you're reading this through Lemmy or Kbin, you won't see any of these polls since they currently don't forward on polls, plus Firefish isn't really compatible with either one at the moment.

I don't know whether I say this too much, but thank you all for supporting Splatoon Unofficial for the past 11 months. I didn't quite expect us to grow this much!

From yesterday's news, I would like to mention Squid Schools video (thanks @curious_robot for linking me to it) on the whole situation, since I think we completely overreacted over the whole thing and I feel like I need to post about it fully.

The stuff that was said yesterday are guidelines. The definition for guidelines (taken from Cambridge Dictionary) is 'information intended to advise people on how something should be done or what something should be'.

This does not mean that we have to follow ANY of the stuff that Nintendo said here.

However, it is recommended that you still follow this. The guidelines are mainly to add clarity to why Nintendo may take down an event, and overall, it is good for any potential tournaments in the future.
