TL;DR: Paper Beast is releasing an Enhanced Edition on PSVR 2 and PS5, featuring improved visuals, new content, and crossbuy for original owners. It's priced at $24.99, with a $4.99 upgrade option for PSVR owners.

Just got a new PSVR2 yesterday and am loving it! However as luck would have it, first time putting it on I smeared my greasy forehead across the lenses (nice!!)

So I looked up about cleaning and first thing I see is not to use the usual glass cleaners. The PlayStation site says to just use your typical lens cloth only but that is only going to smear the grease. As a person who wears glasses I have plenty of experience with that daily.

So what experience does everyone else out there have with this and what do you guys use? I know with my LCD TVs I have found a mixture of vinegar and water and a microfiber cloth works to remove greasy finger prints but didn’t know if that was safe for the lenses.

So what is your guys opinion on firewall so far?

I have to admit I gave in and bought it yesterday, played the tutorial a bit but.. have to admit it really feels off, having to click weapons to reload, switch weapons, open doors...

Seeing it in trailers looked fine but actually playing makes it so uncanny to me. I then hopped into a multiplayer round (?) which was basically the same area but with 2 other players and idk what was going on. I then quit since I went to sleep but really don't know what to think so far.

I do love pavlov and now really wish the game would've been more like that. It's hard remembering to click some buttons you can't see, somehow. In pavlov it all feels natural, you just figure out where to put the mag and whatever by simply trying

Am I missing something or is it not possible to view all tracks you completed at a certain difficulty level? I would like to complete all songs on expert but it's pretty difficult to get that information. The highest score shown when you select a track is sometimes from a lower difficulty than the highest difficulty I completed the track in. The only way to be certain (as far as I know) is by checking the leaderboards panel next to the song info, which wouldn't be so annoying if it would default to the second tab (self instead of global).

Am I missing something or is it just really annoying to get info like this?

I also think the playlist feature is extremely unintuitieve to use. Why isn't there an 'add to playlist' button when you complete the song for example. I love the game but feel like the UI could be polished a bit more.

Hello all - so I have been looking at the VR headset and have a couple questions.

First one is my main concern. I wear glasses, mainly for distance vision. However, here recently I have found I had to get my prescription tweaked to include bifocals for reading (aging sucks). That being said - can you wear glasses with the VR unit and does it matter if you are nearsighted/farsighted or how does that work?

Second question - I know there are games made primarily for VR but will any game work with it? Obviously I cannot imagine playing something like Diablo but am thinking maybe Doom or Genshin Impact?

I think VR skater is as good as a skating game as there can be. The controls are a mix of button presses and hand gestures and they feel very natural after getting used to them (which took me a while).

One of my favorite things is listening to audio books or podcasts while playing. It’s such a muscle memory game that that’s a perfect fit imo.

Has anyone else been playing it?

Not exactly a secret, but after having played through I have to say that Synapse is absolutely amazing and I really really love it. It’s a simple game and it only takes a few hours to complete it, but the mechanics are so satisfying. Eye tracking is on point and the visuals look gorgeous. I love seeing those explosions. If you haven’t yet tried it and are at all interested in games that make you feel powerful or rogue likes, you should give this one a try.

Massive update. I played for about 20 minutes, and it fixes all the loading and graphical issues. It doesn't change the gameplay at all, so if you didn't like it, you probably still won't, but at least it looks a LOT better now, and you don't sit around waiting!

Day #143: PSVR2 camera access is working, so now we have:

  • 6DOF SLAM tracking
  • 3DOF IMU tracking
  • Proximity sensor (headset worn or not)
  • Raw (distorted) stereo camera data
  • Pass-through (distortion corrected) stereo camera data

Just wanted to put this out there in case it helps anyone else. I have been having serious head tracking/wobbling issues with my PSVR2 for a month or two now. I haven't gotten to play much at all, so it's hard to say exactly when it started, but it has been at least a month if not two, and started when playing Red Matter and got a little woozy, and eventually noticed that as I turned my head, there was a slight "wobble" or shift, which needless to say is not cool in VR and makes for a nauseous experience. I didn't think much of it, kinda weird, and over the last while have sporadically tried a few other games (mostly Pavlov), and notice the same thing, happens in menus and everywhere, turn my head and there is a slight zoom in/out, and in Pavlov when holding gun it will float away for a second and come back, which makes it pretty hard to play.

Anyway, I did multiple re-calibrations of headset, redid play area, adjusted lighting, and nothing helped. I eventually backed up all of my data and games and did a complete factory reset on the PS5, restored all of my stuff, and voila, PSVR2 is back to solid! So yeah, doesn't seem to be very widespread as I searched for answers, but wanted to put it out somewhere in case anyone else is having the issue. I was pretty bummed and was getting ready for a warranty battle with Sony or something, but so far so good and it's great to be able to play again!

Had a look on the Japanese store as the Summer Sale has already started there and these are the PSVR2 games on sale. The sales are usually similar from region to region but Japan has slightly less PSVR2 games, so there could be a few extras to add to this list.

Until You Fall, Humanity, Across the Valley, Last Labyrinth, Seeker: My Shadow, Moss and Moss 2, Unplugged - Air Guitar, Cave Digger 2, Altair Breaker, Onogoro Monogatari, Cosmonious High, Drums Rock, REZ, After the Fall Deluxe, Tetris Effect.
