Introduction (self.proconsumer)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by KrisND to c/proconsumer

Purpose: To share pro-consumer products and service that truly have the forethought of the consumer first. Such as easy of use/setup, privacy & security, fair pricing and just generally good pro-consumer business practices.

Goal: To develop a community that will host a list of products/services that you may be in the market for. Hopefully, it will make the buying decision a little easier and thus promoting actual great things.

I am only one person, I don't have a bunch of free time but I will be working on putting together posts when possible. Please feel free to add things here with the rules and this introduction in mind.

Inovelli makes non-cloud based smart home tech using established standards Z-Wave and ZigBee. They take a community-driven approach to development and actively engage with others in the space to craft new products, make firmware updates, and publish automations and guides for popular home automation platforms like Home Assistant. Eric, their founder, can often be found in their forums helping out customers and listening to their feedback.

As the devices are locally controlled, there's no bait-and-switch cloud service requirements and if the company disappeared over night, all their devices would continue to function just as they did before.
