While Young’s project is intended to be environmentally sustainable, a large proportion of the development will be built near the Monterrazas de Cebu, a site whose developers twice received cease and desist orders from the Cebu City government due to the development possibly causing disasters to happen at the foot of the mountain.

Monterrazas is located a few kilometers away from the residential area of Guadalupe, the most populated barangay in Cebu City.

Speaking before reporters on Sunday, August 27, the man identified as Willy Gonzales aired his side after the video of him went viral, insisting that there was more to the story than what was caught on camera. Gonzales, however, did not discuss the details during the 10-minute press conference organized by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD). He also did not categorically apologize to the cyclist.

Based on the police report, 19-year-old John Ace Ompad, the victim’s brother, was on his way home riding his motorcycle when Sabillo and his civilian companion, Jeffrey Baguio, attempted to flag him. John Ace allegedly refused to stop and instead continued heading to his house. He later took off his helmet and threw it at Sabillo and Baguio, which prompted the cop to draw his firearm and shoot.
