TL;DR: Outta Hand is a fantastic VR platforming experience with a 3-4 hour campaign, innovative mechanics, and a perfect balance of narrative and action. It offers creative obstacles, light combat, beautiful visuals, and a great soundtrack. Highly recommended for Quest players. (via ChatGPT)

Should be compatible with Build Engine Randomizer since we just modify map files, but I don't have a VR headset (yet) to test with.

Also supports Blood, Shadow Warrior, and Powerslave

TL;DR: The sheet suggests the Meta Quest 3 will have 8GB of RAM, conflicting with a retailer listing that claims 12GB. It also mentions a passthrough PPD of 18, indicating potentially high-quality passthrough visuals. More details expected at Meta Connect 2023.

TL;DR: Dungeons of Eternity is an upcoming VR co-op game with hack-n-slash combat, set to release in October 2023. It offers three gameplay modes, including dungeon crawling and horde mode. The game focuses on combat, offers various weapon options, and encourages exploration for loot. It features extensive comfort settings and impressive visuals, making it a promising VR co-op experience.

TL;DR: Meta is shutting down VR games Dead and Buried I and II, along with virtual pet simulator Bogo, on March 15, 2024. These games won't be available for purchase or download, signaling a shift away from supporting legacy Quest games as Meta moves towards Quest 3.

The vr community on lemmy is still pretty small. I'm never sure which to post to as they overlap so much. Since the other is more general, maybe that's a best place to use? What do you guys think?

Release date reveal trailer

Super excited for this game, Dishonored has been one of my favorite franchises and this looks like a VR version inspired by it but with a lot of original stuff. Release date is November 2nd.

Early Access Expectations

Understand this is a work-in-progress. We’ve built a talented team, but this game won’t ship until late next year at the earliest.

Early access will give you a behind-the-scenes peek on how game development is made, gray block-out environments, programmer assets, all while the final look of the game hasn’t been established. You’ll see level layouts that will never ship, mechanics that are too OP, design explorations, lots of bugs and fun things in between.

This is not a beta … this is early access.

However, this is the fun part of game development and we are excited to bring you in.

As a robot champion, build a community of galactic olympians, beyond the limits of gravity.

Stations: Travel through a fleet of stations to find your community. Once arrived, float or take one of the many high speed systems to different casual game modes. However, if larger arena sport games are more your style, then find your way to one of the many stadiums. Hang out in the bleachers with your friends to cheer on your favorite players, commentate from the casters' booth, or float through the locker rooms to join in on the action.

Game Mechanics: Learn more about our new approach to zero-g movement. We’re targeting human scale speeds with more physicality, hand based collision, sliding, and paddle based momentum mechanics, all while using very few controller inputs. We have removed the ability to grab flat walls, only allowing grabbing on bars and handles that your fingers could wrap around. We hope this model will follow people's expectations of how hands work in real life, while adding depth and a high skill ceiling by layering multiple physical mechanics together.

Level Editor: The tools we use to build the game will be the tools we ship to the community. Grab your friends and build the game mode live while they are playing.

Community Stations: We’ll share our plans on how players can run their own servers, control their own stations, host their own rule sets, moderate and customize the look and feel of, activities, posters, game modes and more.

See you in game and in Vegas!

I‘m not sure what exactly they’re calculating, but it’s never been worth it to get a bundle for me, especially since you can’t return them. I think they should do it the same way Apple does: take the bundle price, subtract whatever you payed for for the other games you own, and that’s it.

Does anyone know if these are viewable from home, or only at the film festival?

It’s always far behind Rec Room or VR chat and Meta seems to be trying hard to push it as much as they can. But until now at least, it hasn’t gone anywhere.

Don’t get me wrong, I certainly don’t root for it, I’m just wondering what your predictions would be.

Apple is going all-in with hand-tracking for its upcoming Vision Pro, but can hand-tracking really replace proper VR controllers? Meta, Apple’s main competitor in the space, isn’t going so far as to make that particular claim, however the company says Quest’s recent hand-tracking improvements are now “almost as responsive as controllers” thanks to its recent v56 software update.

Looks promising, I'm looking forward to their take on pickleball too.
