The answer is there is no right away. Eat the whole thing or start at the white end or start at the yellow end.

It's coming together. This is the main decoration I set up for my house. I've still got a lot to do with the lighting control, fog, and audio.

Nothing particularly original or unique - mostly off-the-shelf except for the fence, but a little light and fog go a long way.

Last year I started up a neighborhood haunted trail and it ended up being way more successful than in imagined. We’re starting planning for this year and I thought I’d get some ideas from y’all. Let me know if you have any amazing ideas for a haunted trail.

I setup a semi janky site for it so also take a look if interested.

Only real constraint is that we don’t have tons of power available. Last year was zero power and this year we’re planing on running some long extension cords but it’s definitely a limiting factor.

It also needs to be roughly PG-13. We can go semi hard but need to be able to be able to dial it back as there will be some little ones.

For this Halloween...the trilogy begins. First time Ellen Burstyn is appearing since the original. William Peter Blatty returns as one of the writers and rumor has it Linda Blair will make a cameo appearance.

There are 97 days until Halloween, but at the 24. August the gates of the Kürbisland (Pumkin Land) in Liestal (Switzerland), open his gates.

Dieter and his Wife Nadia are amazing farmers and his pumpkins are the proof. He explains in some videos at @hofgut_obere_wanne_liestal what he is doing on his ground and why.

Michael's had some. It was a little underwhelming, but I think more is on the way.

Have you seen any out there?

What was your best purchase of last year?

Mine was a crow statue from Michaels. I used it for the post image.

Cauldron black (lemmy.world)

Image of a black cauldron big enough to hold a cat, which it is. A black cat is peaking its head out of the cauldron, but only to the bottom of its green eyes.

Image of fake skull with missing jaw. One side of the skull is encrusted with diamonds and pearls with a large pearl in place of the eye.

Image of a Halloween display. Clockwise from center bottom are three small black pumpkins with images carved into them. Two are witch silhouettes and the other is an owl. Then at the top is a black wreath made of twigs and bat shapes, then there is a small, white pumpkin wrapped in black lace with a bow, a glass bottle with a label reading, "Witch's Brew", and then back to the center is a small fake skull and fake crow on top of a book entitled, "The Element Encyclopedia of 5000 Spells".
