A way to see 3D images without special screens or glasses. Just cross your eyes to overlap the two images.

Posting on Crossview

This is a community for posting or discussing 3D images using the crossview technique. There is another community for the Parallel View technique and also one for Anaglyph 3D using red/blue glasses.

Keep it fun.

Description: Centola et al designed and characterized a leaf-spring nanoengine (NE) which consists of two 18-helix bundle DNA origami arms connected at one end by a flexure made up of a layer of dsDNA and a layer of ssDNA. A T7 RNA polymerase connected to one of the arms binds to a promoter sequence on a dsDNA bridge connecting the two arms and as it consumes NTPs, drives the structure closed. The tension built up in the flexure then re-opens the structure, preparing it for another cycle.

Structure type: Nucleic acid/protein hybrid

Applications: Molecular machines, Molecular motor, DNA robot, DNA nanotechnology

A Lemmy meme (lemmy.world)

"An internet adage is that on any forum 10% of users comment, and 1% post. Lemmy needs to break out of that paradigm, and users should be disproportionately active compared to user/activity on Reddit."

Arrokoth (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 year ago by bluyonder to c/crossview

On Jan. 1, 2019, New Horizons made a high-speed flyby of Arrokoth, approaching as close as 2,198 miles (3,538 kilometers) of the object. During the encounter the spacecraft's cameras revealed a world not quite like any explored before. In a fitting tribute to the farthest flyby ever conducted by spacecraft, the Kuiper Belt object 2014 MU69 has been officially named Arrokoth, a Native American term meaning “sky” in the Powhatan/Algonquian language.
