The fifth annual ROGUE INVITATIONAL will be held. These are from the 27th - 29th of October and will be held in Austin, Texas. Yup, exactly the state which will host the CF Games from next year.

Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr is also back on board after her time off (pregnancy) 💪 I'm curious to see if she can hold her own against Laura Horvath can prevail. Here beat two hearts 💕 in my chest. On the one hand, I wish that Tia is great again, on the other hand, I keep my fingers crossed for Laura, as a European ;) let's see who wins.

As a spectator, I find the presentation of the 2023 ROGUE INVITATIONAL more successful than this year's CrossFit Games. This year they took the cake at the Games with the bad broadcast of the Master Athletes. The moderator this year is again Sean Woodland, so also like at the CF Games. I also find the Strongmans very interesting. You get a lot of spectacular stuff. In short, I find the ROGUE INVITATIONAL more successful than the CF Games.

What do you think? Which format do you find better?

Tip: If advertising comes without YouTube Premium, you could also watch the stream without additional advertising via Piped.

I follow this YouTuber Amanda Hari for quite a while and I enjoy her games coverage. She gives good summaries, has interesting thoughts and the videos are not super fast cuts of incoherent stuttering.

How was your experience on the first day with the games?

Unfortunately, I could not enjoy the games until now. It is sad that a poor quality stream was broadcast yesterday. A camera shot where you saw absolutely nothing. It has the aftertaste of a devaluation for the athletes. If you promote the Games from day 1, then you should please stream qualitatively from day 1. The athletes are in the age groups and with the restrictions the TOP athletes. And if you do not pay attention to the community, then please pay attention to the sponsors. A qualitative stream that shows me the advertising partners all the time might encourage me to buy the products. And if someone has the money for all the stuff, then the older athletes. Just a tip ;)

I might have to switch to training in my garage in the near future. I already own some equipment, but I am interested in the other opinions what the most effective use of a small space is and what equipment is absolutely necessary, multiple use, effective and or just plain fun to own.

Here's the list of things I already own in order of importance to me:

  • barbell + weights
  • jump rope
  • airbike
  • sandbag
  • wall ball
  • adjustable kettlebell
  • dumbbells (hex 15kg, 22.5kg, but I'd upgrade to an adjustable one)
  • resistance bands
  • torque tank m1 (a quiet magnetic resistance sled, so you don't annoy neighbors)
  • box (for box jumps, squats, other accessory)

I also consider buying:

  • rower
  • drop pads
  • some type of squat rack with a pull up bar

What do you use most often or consider essential in any other way in a garage gym?

CrossFit HQ’s General Manager of Sport Justin Bergh will be leaving the company and Dave Castro will step in as Leader of Sport Team. The major shake up comes only six weeks out from the 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games—the pinnacle event of the sport.

Here's the start of the article:

To the CrossFit Community,

I’ve thought a lot about what it would feel like to write this letter. The words have come easier than I imagined. This is from my heart.

After a decade and a half of dedicating my life to this craft, I have decided that 2023 will be my last year coaching at the CrossFit Games.

This sport has brought more purpose, fulfillment and passion to my life than I ever thought possible. There have been hard-earned wins and heartbreaking losses, times of confidence and times of complete uncertainty. I believe the CrossFit Games is one of the best sporting events in the world, supported by the best community in the world, and I am filled with gratitude that most of my adult life has been spent preparing athletes to compete in it.

With a heavy heart, i’d like to share that I won’t be competing at Semifinals this weekend.

Sometimes, we face personal challenges that demand our attention and care. It's important to prioritize our well-being and embrace the support of loved ones.

While I won't be competing, I'm grateful for the u nderstanding and encouragement from my coach @mathewfras & my @hwpotraining team, friends, family, and fans. Their unconditional support means the world to me.

Remember, life isn't just about winning trophies or achieving goals—it's about finding balance, taking care of ourselves, and cherishing the moments that truly matter.

I'll be taking this time to focus on what's important to me, and I appreciate your understanding during this period. I wish the best of luck to my teammates & competitors 🤍
