A segment or segments were planned to build to Kenny Omega’s match against Konosuke Takeshita this weekend, but Omega was unable to fly out of Florida due to hurricane/tropical storm Idalia.

There were also concerns Chris Jericho wouldn’t make it for the same reason, but he was able to get to Illinois for his scene with Sammy Guevara.

Saraya & Swerve Strickland were “pulled from the show for illness reasons”. The nature of their illness isn’t known, but Saraya has been booked for match with Toni Storm & Ruby Soho against Dr. Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida & TBS champion Kris Statlander on Collision this Saturday night. Nothing’s been announced for Strickland, but he may have been set for a few days off after being shut in a coffin by Sting & Darby Allin at Wembley.

CM Punk and Jack Perry have been suspended from All Elite Wrestling, Sports Illustrated has confirmed.

Punk and Perry had a physical altercation at last weekend’s AEW All In 2023 pay-per-view event and neither man attended the post-All In afterparty.

Perry made a reference to using real glass during his “Zero Hour” pre-show match with HOOK, in a nod to Punk taking issue with him wanting to use real glass for a segment on AEW Collision.

The two men reportedly pushed each other backstage before Punk used a chokehold, while Punk’s All In 2023 opponent Samoa Joe tried to mediate the situation.

Following All In 2023, it was reported that there was a belief among talent that both men had been suspended, pending an investigation into the matter.

Sports Illustrated has since confirmed this report, stating,

“CM Punk and Jack Perry have both been suspended for an altercation before the start of the All In pay-per-view, Sports Illustrated has confirmed.”

Bryan Alvarez has also reported that both men have been suspended and will face an investigation into what transpired at Wembley Stadium.

Though stories are varying, per usual in the tabloid-adjacent wrestling media, PWInsider (h/t Wrestling Inc) reported that after Perry's match, there was an altercation involving Punk. Per the report, several sources claim Punk "went after" or even "hit" Perry. Punk’s heat with Perry stems from reports that Punk nixed an idea from Perry to use real glass in a match. This led to a backstage confrontation between the two as Punk—the veteran—looked to protect the 26-year-old Perry’s safety.

A new Fightful Select report has provided some details on the ongoing possibilities of Paul Wight’s use of the Captain Insano persona that began with the character’s appearance in 1998’s The Waterboy. AEW trademarked use of Captain Insano in 2021, and sources have indicated that work is being done on gear for the character. Fightful also caught rumor that discussions were held at AEW for an All In match featuring Captain Insano, Matt Hardy, & Jeff Hardy vs. Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal & Satnam Singh. Recent travel issues for Jeff Hardy and Satnam Singh may necessitate replacements if such a bout does make it to the card, however.

In an interview with Insider, Saraya spoke about the possibility of a sequel to the biopic about her life, Fighting With My Family. Here are highlights:

On a sequel to the film: I would love to do a sequel. That would be amazing. And I feel like it should be PG-13 because of all the shit I did, and the stuff I was involved in.”

On a follow-up that might be in the works: “[Might] be another movie or something entirely different. Keep your eyes peeled for something special that’s going to happen.”

On choosing AEW over WWE: “Hunter was talking to me, and Tony was talking to me, and I had a big decision to make. Hunter did say, ‘You always have that coin in your back pocket if you did want to wrestle again.’ The contracts in WWE, as much as you get wonderful platform and all that kind of stuff, you’re restricted in what you can and can’t do. Tony had offered me to potentially wrestle again — only if my neck was able to.”

On her doctor clearing her to wrestle: “He was like, ‘Your neck is perfectly fine.’ I was like, ‘Will I be paralyzed if I ever wrestle again?’ and he was like, ‘No, you’ve got the fluid back around your spinal cord now, which is the most important thing. That’s the thing that would’ve paralyzed you — because that’s the cushion to protect your spinal cord.’ It was definitely a magical moment. I called my family and we cried our eyes out, because wrestling is everything to my family.”

PWTorch has learned that Copeland presented to WWE what it would take to retain his services, but WWE declined to meet his request. This has sparked a belief within WWE that he is probably headed to AEW and knew at that time what AEW could offer him (based, perhaps, on conversations with other wrestlers of his star power about AEW pay). Tony Khan is a big fan of Edge and certainly would value adding him to the roster, either as a wrestler or in some other role.

Ospreay took to social media ahead of his upcoming match inside Wembley Stadium to reveal that he was never asked to be part of the historic show in 2018. Ospreay wrote:

True story. Cody asked months after the first one “why wasn’t you on All In”

My reply was “you didn’t ask”

Essentially they forgot to message me to be part of their history.

Took long enough but finally part of All In at Wembley Stadium…And I’m not All Elite…I’m Above It

Adam Cole just wants to talk things out with Roderick Strong. The two friends haven't been on the best of terms in recent weeks, as Cole has been prioritizing his newly formed friendship with MJF over his long time friendship with Strong. Strong has often been seen throwing temper tantrums backstage, which has been amusing to many fans. In a new interview with the Under The Ring podcast, Cole said that he wishes him, MJF, and Roderick Strong could sit down in a room and talk things out. “I know man, god. I’m waiting for him to return my calls, it’s an emotional time. I know he’s frustrated about a lot of things, I wish me, him, and Max could sit down in a room and just talk this thing out.”

Santana has been out of action since last year when he suffered a torn ACL in a Blood & Guts match. He has been posting vignettes on social media as late, hyping his return to television, but has yet to do so.

Fightful Select reports Santana is ready for an in-ring return. Per the report, he’s been medically cleared to do so. However, Sanata and Ortiz are still on bad terms, something that has been the case for a while now.
