50501 Illinois is a decentralized, nonviolent movement united to defend democracy, liberty, and justice against the authoritarian overreach of the current presidential administration and its allies. Born from a grassroots call for 50 protests in 50 states on February 5, 2025, we are committed to inclusivity, diversity, and peaceful resistance. This page will include any locations in Illinois with the exception of Chicago which has its own dedicated community. c/50501chicago

๐Ÿšจ ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ RED ALERT TIME SENSITIVE: This is serious!

Call the Illinois senator Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth and tell them to vote NO on the CR. Senators will vote on this tomorrow (3/13/25) . There is no time to loose!

We need Democratic Senators to hold the line and not allow this CR to pass. It gives Trump more power on the budget and hurts Americans. The Democrats can stop it. It cannot be moved to a floor vote without 60 senators. Republicans don't have 60.

What this CR aims to do: Republicans want to give up the right to vote on budget issues for the next 6 months and instead give complete control to the president.

They are using the risk of a government shutdown to push this bill. Dont let them do this! This bill will grant Trump with king-powers to further dismantle the U.S government departments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPzO9qi-yvI https://www.govexec.com/federal-news/2025/03/house-passes-gop-funding-bill-avoid-government-shutdown/403665/ https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/house-passes-bill-to-fund-federal-agencies-through-september

If a shutdown happens it will be blamed on democrats but this is better than the alternative . TELL YOUR SENATOR THIS! Because right now they are undecided on how to vote.

The link leads to Indivisible's call link. It will give you the number of your representative. Consider fax if you can!

The Postal Service is facing one of the most serious threats in our history. Reports indicate that the new presidential administration is preparing an illegal and hostile takeover of the USPS, threatening the stability of our jobs, our workplaces, and the public service we proudly provide. The American people deserve a Postal Service that remains true to its public mission and continues to serve communities across the country, no matter where you live. Now postal workers and the communities we serve are standing together to ensure our postal service stays in the hands of the people, not the billionaires. Let's make it clear to the country that the U.S Mail is Not For Sale! View the map of actions below!
