Same thing for me. But I mostly lurk on reddit. I'd like to make an effort to post here though!

Other people have said the important parts. I'm not sure if you were on reddit for long. But if you think back to the early days of reddit it was not as stable as you might think now. The site was constantly down and there were many bugs. The user interface was still in development. Lemmy could be a diamond in the rough. Give it some sharpening and it will be a good place. I guess it's up to the users.
I guess it depends on what you're here for. I'm not really looking for friends as much as insightful comments from people of similar interests. Quality posts need a certain amount of people to show up. Like the guy spending months and years making the perfect photo of the moon. Would that happen in a forum with ten people? I don't think so. Not to say that quality content wont happen here. It's all up to each and every one of us in the end, and people seem to leave longer comments of better quality and substance. Lets do our best and see where it goes!
Yeah, I feel this. I wont make communities since I'm not the moderator type. But I will make an effort to post which in my case is a step up since I mostly lurk.
Ok, so this is my first post. It seems to be going quite well so far. The communities seem to be upbeat and positive. The comments are mostly insightful and of good quality. Reddit does have the advantage of time and user base but I think Lemmy or Kbin can catch up quite well. I remember the early days of reddit and it was constantly offline due to the influx of users and there were many bugs. So I'm positive to the development of this place. Lets see where it goes!
