While Project 2025 suggested the use of the military as law enforcement in Democratic cities - in reality this can only work in Red States. The federation style of government gives power to the state in the form of the National Guard.

I believe there is some sort of power that enables Governors to draw up reserves too, and any federal military stationed in the State.

Something like NOAA really requires a lot of experts to run, and get value from. If they replace it with loyalists, privatize it, or just stop funding it all together it's entire benefit will end.

2. only premium users get the 24/7 continuous weather updates from NWR broadcasts (radio weather updates).

3.NWWS (basically used for severe weather monitoring) now has fees or is gone.

4. EWIN means no more emergency weather coordination.

5. Weather.gov is shut down or prioritized.

That means immediately we have disasters in all farming communities from lower crop yields. The tornado belt will get deadlier. You can just forget about living in Florida. It will be very expensive to fly because airlines no longer receive that data. More destructive forest fires. Incoming and outgoing sea shipping will become much more expensive and dangerous (more expensive imports, exports, seafood, off shore oil).

Not to mention space weather is in the realm of NOAA. Satellite and radio comms will be difficult to account for. Geomagnetic storms will cause infrastructure damage when operators of pipelines and power grids can't prepare for the induced surges.

1. There is no "protecting dissent." Dissent will be outlawed full stop. This will be done by crazy means to make it sound viable to the Constitution.

2. There will be several levels of organized means of dissent. You could say a "resistance", an "underground", and a "rebellion."

3. The resistance will be collective acts to prevent the admin from doing whatever they want. You may have seen governors come out and say they will not let federal troops into their cities - they have the authority over state national guard to do this.

4. The underground: this will be quiet forms of dissent. Visiting family in other states to bring them birth control, or take them across state lines for "routine medical care." They will circumvent policies without attraction of the authorities.

5. Rebellion. These will be insurgent actions risking life and limb to oppese enforcement efforts directly.
