I think it’s a smart business move. They’re using their strongest show to hook people. Giving them a taste.

This is what I noticed as well. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but they seem to have the appearance of being as unbiased as NPR, AP, or BBC.

How are they evil? After doing a google search to see how they perform as a news organization, I’m genuinely curious about your viewpoint.

I think for now if people know about this and they’re fans because of the spirit of Trek, they’ll come here, and maybe both places. But if they’re a casual fan, they’ll likely stick with Reddit. What’s nice about all the drama is the awareness it brought to Lemmy and the Fediverse as a whole. At least more people know they have a choice.
