I never stopped. I have streaming video and audio subscriptions, But I've never stopped keeping up my catalogs.

Every time I get over invested in one company or another they end up going out of business or selling and reducing half of their catalog. I'll give d+ their sub for Agatha, I'll give Hulu their sub for Futurama. When Wednesday comes back I'll swap D+ for Netflix for the season again. But every single one of those episodes still goes to my local archive The same as if I would have recorded or a VHS tape in the '90s.

As long as you're not playing the fucking Eagles man

It was from the era when choreography mattered. You could roll through an entire fight scene and see what every punch was supposed to be doing. You had some situational awareness where everyone was.

Now we keep getting that stupid crap where they're changing the scene every punch, with so many scenes per second that you can't follow through, actually just like the fight scenes and matrix 4.

You have to own that shit it's the only way you can expect them to ever own it.

Within reason, I have to hold myself accountable to the same level I expect them to.

It's all a big balancing act. Getting enough discipline in to make them responsible without using so much the lie to you and hide stuff.

I wasn't raised that way, I want to do better by them.

Hell, even not having lidar The thing was pretty clearly a large road obstacle a second and a half out. They had a whole left lane open At least enough time to do a significant speed reduction.

Absolutely a scam. There's about 10 common ways to bleed money out of somebody at that point. Maybe You're paying for a background check or certification. Maybe they send you a check that's too big, and you need to send them back some cash, only to find out that the check itself got reversed in your account after you mail off the money.

I'm really surprised they haven't managed to push Azure Linux into the fold. Release a desktop version, Find some way to make attractive for all those Windows 10 people ready to walk away. Then just slowly fold all the bullshit back in. They could even bring the gui completely Windows 10esque

Great, now we're not going to catch the next zero day compression vulnerability. :)

LOL. nah hit me with it, any engagement is better than none :)

[–] linearchaos 4 points 1 month ago

I totally agree, and I did try. It was just some kind of soul reposting things from Reddit and me.

[–] linearchaos 9 points 1 month ago

Well, the sub in question had one person copying the articles from Reddit and me commenting on them. That was decidedly too few :)

Philosophically, I think you need enough engagement that there's chat at least a few times a week in the group. Anything less than that and it's closer to a search engine result than a community.

My name is Adam Ragusea. I cook in my house, and I show you how you can too (in your house, not mine). I like to use my head when I cook, but I have no time for being fussy or fancy. I post a recipe video every Thursday, and some other kind of video about food every Monday (usually with science).

Ok, for those not familiar, this guy Chef John ... he has this cadence in his videos. It's very hard to get used to watching his videos, but his work is honestly fantastic. His first videos didn't have it, I think he adopted it and gained followers maybe it's confirmation bias, I'm not sure if it's helping him or hurting him these days, but once you get used to it, if you can get used to it, it becomes endearing.

This particular dish is some of his best work. I make it all the time. It's quick, simple, easy to clean up from and insanely flavorful.

from youtube: 134,698 views Aug 16, 2022 One of my favorite things to do is take complicated, labor-intensive dishes, and create simplified, more approachable versions any home cook can pull off. But sometimes, we take an already simple and easy recipe, and making even more so. Don’t worry; you still get to call it “chisaupepo.” Enjoy!

While the video is slow paced, the outcome is absolutely amazing.

Steve Mould is a science video content creator, he posts a ton of high quality content about various interesting subjects.

In this video he shows the innerworking of auto-shut-off gas pump handles which have frankly always been a mystery to me. Turns out they're both more complicated and somehow simpler than I would have ever guessed.

It get's a fine gps of your location and heading and uses a madlibs style AI prompt to generate an image of what the 'camera' sees.
