For me it's like moving to a small town. Instead of a whole scene into each if my weird interests it's just a few cool people. But thats just a function of population.

Sorry the o word bit was a dunp joke. I actualy prefer it over the usual coy alternatives like ceo.
I think it might be my favorie of his. It's a solid brick of theory. But like all his stuff deeply diverse and eclectic in its sources.

Seriously though, I think the best defence againt that is decentralization. It's not just ok for this to not be THE reddit sucessor. It's a positive good. Even more so now that I've realized you can follow most activitypub based things like mastodon from most of the others. Not only are none of the successors in completion, they're in symbiosis.
As a reddit refugee the image and video viewer has been the only speedbump for me. That is other than not being hooked up to a firehose of content, but i feel that will come in time.
I'm happy to have influxed all over. Its been both welcoming and chill.

I've always been a fan of Carson. Desktop industrial revolution and exodus are my favorites. Giant Bricks of paper. Block quotes pages long. I love it. Very focused on synthesis of seemingly opposed ideas (dialectic even) 😁. Most of his full texts are up on the anarchist library.
Honestly thats the bit thar warps my mind the most. The federation jusr made sense to me, its like email. The dact that many of the apps are at least somewhat interoperable. Now thats just magic.
Feels like this might be the fediverse flavor that sticks with me. I tried mastodon and diaspora, but they didn't stick. Didn't help that I hated Twitter and Facebook.
