Not only this but the past month has seen our least congested fixtures for the season and heading into the break.

We made plenty of early subs in the games we were smashing the opposition, but against Porto it was a calculated risk to use our best players for the whole match, balanced by the fact we have a three week break.

Sounds like Ben actually made himself unavailable for international duty. Whether there was something going on, or he didn't want to fuck around on the bench for Maguire for two weeks.

Edit: just saw the other post, you already know this nvm

What about the reverse? Exploiting a security vulnerability and getting access to sensitive data that you then use for financial gain shouldn't be a crime? Going into a house with poor quality locks and stealing things?

I'm not trying to side with big corporations here but I think you're getting the precedent issue the wrong way around. If the actions of that person weren't a crime, it'd be a bigger problem.

The underlying issue, that people are pushed into theft out of desperation, is far worse. I make no moral judgement of this person because I don't know their circumstances. But I don't think whether it is a crime or not can really be debated.

God that's a horrifying thought.

Yeah I think what's needed is an analysis of whether the stoppage time approach actually discourages negative play. I doubt it - the benefit of negative play against a team like us is more about interrupting the flow of our game and preventing momentum than it is about minutes in play.

Another solution needs to be found, that is more punishing to those teams. Or, we accept that low-mid block negativity is just part of the modern game now. I dont think many football fans want to watch that, but maybe I'm wrong.

I also think there is room for the strategy in the sport and if Arsenal were using these tactics we'd be looking at it much more favourably. So who knows.

That's true! I guess it's all a bit ephemeral. The real answer is that they have an elite mentality and a strong squad. If we can win the champions league, we can do it no matter who we face. And if we win all of our remaining games, we win the league.

Sure, that's easier said than done, but we can only play the next game and hope for luck in everything else.

It would be interesting to face them another two times, mind games in the title race etc

So have UEFA just not adopted the FIFA stoppage time rules?

And we could deny Kane another chance at a trophy
