Yeah I think they play football the way they got promoted, not just hamming up to force the point of staying in the league. The positivity could attract some better talent, or even some more money, even if they ultimately have to fight for promotion again. I hope the effort isn't seen as a failure.
Can't help but feel that, for this Liverpool game to be a happy ending for us, Brighton need to find a way to score 2 or 3 more goals... Happy to be proven wrong though. That finish from Welbeck was peak.
Reports are that we broke our record for first professional contract, so it may have been that we actually just priced them out.
Yeah super proud to see another young man come up through the academy. Hopefully he starts to get some decent sub minutes next season, although we may look to loan him out for a year
Less than a week left until what may end up being the most important game of our season. I've always been optimistic and hopeful that we will take the title challenge right down to the wire but a win against city, for me, puts me firmly in believing it's our year.
I need to plan where I'll be on the last day of the season.
Yeah agree with that. To me it feels a bit like the men's team under Emery and in Artetas first year, just frustrating to watch
Now this is based purely on a ten minute highlight reel but I don't think things are all that bad for us. I don't think it was a flattering scoreline - sure, plenty of wasted chances but 3 or 4 shots off the post and Villa's keeper had an excellent game.
Sure, it's disappointing the way we lost to Chelsea and to win that game would've put us in the title conversation but it's not like we're coming in 7th. I don't disagree with anyone who says it might be time for a change of manager, but we've had a lot of disarray due to injuries in the past 2 seasons so I can see the argument that we haven't seen the best of this team yet.
Now I'm sad
It gets me thinking - everything Arteta is building, I hope it's all built to last. I'd hate for either this current crop of players to age out, or him to leave, and it all fall apart.
Obviously we all feel we haven't yet peaked, but I just don't want us to be playing Emery ball or rocking geriatric Sokratis in a decade from now
Confirmed - we are signing him /s
I don't think it's super difficult to do, from last time I played with the API. Maybe I'll have a crack, and share the code somewhere in case it borks and I disappear.
No promises. Assignments and all that are piled up atm.
Hey they heard me.
