Read his response to the Fraternal Order of Police being their usual self-aggrandizing crybaby selves. He's cool as hell so far.

Yuuup. I wanted a hysterectomy. Was told no because my insurance doesn't cover "elective" hysterectomies. Ok, but it's not really elective, my periods have become increasingly debilitating and birth control isn't managing it. Nope, sorry, missing work regularly because of symptoms is totally normal and women just have to deal with it. I ended up getting a bilateral salpingectomy (which is covered electively) because I wanted to make sure pregnancy was really off the table, and they found fibroids. A year and a half later, it's gotten bad enough that now the stupid hysterectomy is no longer considered elective.
So now my insurance is going to pay for TWO surgeries instead of just the one I originally wanted because some dumbass bean counter decided that's how it should work. Super cost effective. And I really love having to recover from multiple surgeries, it was really fun the first time, so I can't wait for a second, worse time. But hey, we can't possibly trust doctors and patients to know what's going on more that someone who has never and will never meet either of them!
Who will explain for me, to my wonderful son, Barron, who is a GREAT Student at a fantastic School, that his Dad will likely not be allowed to attend his Graduation Ceremony
Sure, you cheeto-dusted nutsack, I'll break the news to Barron as soon as you tell me what school he goes to without any help.
I think there are an unfortunate number of monogamous people who decide to try polyamory to fix or hold on to a dying relationship. It's not a surprise that that often goes extremely poorly. It's not for everyone and it's not gonna fix any problems.
I've dated a couple of people who are poly, and while I'd always been in monogamous relationships, I was open to the idea. I don't think love is a finite resource, and I'm not a jealous person at all, and it turns out, it doesn't bother me at all. I also stay well away from anyone who thrives on drama, so all involved were very honest and adult about the whole thing. I wasn't in a good headspace for any relationship at the time, so it didn't work, but I'd absolutely be willing to try it again.
Eh, pretty much all of my info has been part of one breach or another and nothing has happened. I keep locks with all the credit bureaus and monitor my report regularly, which I think everyone should do, but there's not much else you even can do about it unfortunately.
The local oldies station summer concert features Vanilla Ice, Tone Loc, Tag Team and some other 90s bands, so now I kind of want to buy a walker and some tennis balls since my childhood is considered oldies.
And there are a lot of homeless people who have jobs, but they don't make enough to actually live on. I met a woman who wanted to know if we knew of anywhere she could get a small towable trailer because she worked full time as a CNA but rent is so high that she was living in her car. She'd found a place that would let her park a trailer so she could at least have a bed, but didn't have one. This woman was basically the primary caregiver for a ton of people, and had to live in her fucking car. Housing in this country is fucked pretty much every way it can be, as are wages.
We have a big freezer, so I stuck the whole bag in there.
I don't think it's "cool" the way like...90s teen movies meant cool. I think it's more like, "are they a kind person who is enjoyable to be around?" You can have other achievements that look good on paper and be cool. You can be an awkward dork and still be cool in that sense. Unfortunately, some parents prize the resume over raising a decent human being, and some kids end up being assholes, which is not cool at all.
Huh, I usually use the Morningstar chorizo, which is surprisingly good, because it's smaller pieces, but I'm not opposed to the idea.
Oh yeah, true. I use them in stir fry a lot. Butler says fajitas - I haven't tried that but I bet they'd be good.
The fun part is that they probably didn't! My insurance is actually pretty good, so all I pay is a $250 copay for each surgery. My insurer now gets to pay for the time of two surgeons, two anesthesiologists, and the multiple nurses involved (at least 8, between pre-op, procedure, and recovery). Plus all of the other costs. So at least I get the knowledge that it probably cost them an extra $15k.
