Every 6 months without fail whichever car insurance company I am with raises my rates. My car depreciates in value the whole 6 months and is now less valuable and therefore less costly to replace and yet they raise my premiums. So, every 6 months I have to play this game and switch to another company. Then when you call them to cancel they act disappointed and ask why you want to cancel. Duh!!!

There's a self-help book about this concept:

The Slight Edge: Turning Simple Disciplines into Massive Success and Happiness

In a nutshell, The Slight Edge is over a 250-page exhortation of the power of making small decisions that accumulate over time into a significant difference.

What’s with this title?

You've never had a job interview?

The title means that businesses know exactly how to pay their vendors and all the bills they must pay but when it comes time to pay for the service of an employee's labor they suddenly think the employee should want to do the job for free, or for little money, or for personal enjoyment. They treat the job as gift that they will bestow upon a deserving person and they don't see your labor as any other good/service which they must pay for when running a business.

Do you work in HR? How did you not get that?
