Apex with EAC worked perfectly fine on Linux for the last 2 years, EA just decided to break it by replacing EAC with their own anti-cheat which is Windows only.

Hmm, Alingsås dock..

Yea, the examples are not explained well, but if they're using some other software/code for inference it might be configured wrong, or not compatible with qwen-coder FIM, and produce strange results for that reason.

Add "site:reddit.com" to your google query.

Sad thing is that search engines have got so bad, and usually return so much garbage blog spam that searching directly on reddit is more likely to give useful results. I hope a similar amount of knowledge will build up on Lemmy over time.

Absolut..

I think Microsoft and their partners have been dreaming about turning PCs into fully locked down platforms for a long time, completely unrelated to gaming. Hardware DRM including display devices and cables, and only running "trusted" software is the end goal.

Näe, det var mer menat som ett klagomål på dagens SvT (insert "old man yells at cloud" meme) än en kommentar till dig.

I think the problem is that game publishers also want the cheapest and laziest solutions. What EA (and others) are doing now are basically "give us full control of your computer so we can do whatever we want" with their kernel level anti-cheats. Server side anti-cheat requires more processing that they have to pay for, and requires more work to develop heuristics and other algorithms to detect cheaters.

Would be interesting to know why some people downvoted this comment, if they think there's some reason to not play The Finals on Linux. I've only done the tutorial so far, and the gameplay seems somewhat similar to Apex, it's also f2p, and uses EAC so currently no issues with anti-cheat. Might not look like an indie game but it feels like a decent alternative to Apex.

Been thinking about adding a little bit of bass to the home cinema system, both for watching movies (i.e. LFE) and to support the bookshelf sized front speakers. Was hoping to not spend too much money, but I also don't want something that sounds bad, or only provides rumble without much distinction to different sounds. Got a medium sized room which I've estimated to 67m³ (2350 cubic feet) so I'm leaning towards dual subs.

Current options I'm considering:

  • Pre-built subs, probably XTZ 12.17 Edge
  • DIY Dayton Audio 15" flat pack, with either RSS310HF-4 or HO-4
  • DIY VBSS with GRS 18PT-8 18"

The total cost for either option would be around €1500, since I would need to buy some power tools to build the VBSS.

From what I've read the VBSS is supposed to sound fairly good, especially in the mid-bass region, while lacking some very low bass compared to the DA Reference and Ultimax drivers.

Anyone have some experience with the above subs, primarily the VBSS?

This link showed up on the front page as a post about the search for the secret cow level, posted to the diablo community, but clicking it sometimes shows a post about The Mets and sometimes it's a post about dating advice in the phillipines community.

Note that URL in screenshot is the same as the link I posted, and the right column shows correct community info.

Reloading the page replaced the content with the correct post about diablo.
